How was everyone's 4th of July?

A big holiday here in New York. Maybe next year I'll go to see some of the big fireworks. I didn't really want to go out and deal with crowds, so I went and watched Lorna cook and got to taste all kinds of good food:
I helped make the macaroni and cheese and I think I'll try to make it again on my own soon.
Watermelon... seems a lot more popular here. I don't remember eating it a lot as a kid. It's very sweet and very good though. I tried it with salt on the rind like someone said.
I definitely need to learn how to cook things other than ramen and toast! So I'll be at Lorna's cooking classes this summer--see you there if you sign up as well!
- Chicken fried steak, which is steak that is breaded and fried like chicken. Never tried it before--it was delicious!
- Burgers with all the toppings you can think of, even pickles
- Potato salad
- Deviled eggs
- Macaroni and cheese
- Watermelon
- Apple pie
- Banana cream pie
